Harman Kardon is the next company to present a Google Assistant-powered smart speaker at IFA 2018-- the Citation 500, a high-end audio offering featuring 200W stereo speakers and 24-bit/96kHz streaming support.
The Citation 500 comes in a fabric-covered design reminiscent of the Google Home speaker line. The top carries an LCD touchpanel providing playback controls, although of course one can control the speaker via voice. In addition, customers can pair the Citation 500 with smartphones to add another audio source.
Further features include a built-in Chromecast for access to any number of streaming services, and smart home hub functionality for the control of devices such as lights or thermostats. Customers can also pair the Citation 500 with other Citation series speakers to create wireless home audio setup.
The Citation 500 is expected to ship from December 2018.
