Samsung and Harman Kardon join forces in a pair of first co-branded soundbars-- the HW-N950 and HW-850, both featuring wifi and Dolby Atmos and DTS:X capability together with wifi, Bluetooth and Samsung SmartThings connectivity.

Samsung soundbarThe N950 offers what Samsung claims is the channels in a soundbar, being a 7.1.4 model. It consists of a main unit, four speakers and two wireless sound sound speakers, a built-in wireless subwoofer and a rear wireless speaker kit. Meanwhile the N850 is a 5.1.2-channel model, and offers a main unit speaker and a woofer.

“Our collaboration with Harman Kardon-- an audio leader for 65 years-- is a major leap forward as we continue to push the boundaries of premium sound and design for our consumers,” Samsung says. “Samsung’s market leading display technology and design paired with premium sound quality of Harman Kardon products is a winning combination for consumers.”

The Samsung-Harman collaboration started last year, when the S. Korean giant acquired Harman International for $8 billion in cash. Since then Harman brands have found place in numerous Samsung products, from AKG headphones bundled with Galaxy smartphones and tablets, to professional cinema solutions with the JBL professional brand.
