Famed Italian tyre maker Pirelli is the next company to offer a licensed audio product-- the Pirelli P Zero Sound is a Bluetooth speaker modeled after the P Zero, a tyre used in the wind tunnel testing of F1 cars.
Made by fellow Italian and audio specialist iXoost (pronounced like "exhaust"), the P Zero Sound features a 6.5-inch aluminium rim framing a 25mm inch silk tweeter and 10cm mid/bass driver, and powering it is a 100W amplifier and digital signal processor. Wireless connectivity comes through Bluetooth 4.0 with AptX.
In all the speaker measures 33 x 19cm, and weighs 9.5kg. It promises "hand-crafted unique touches and attention to detail," and comes in black with logos in a choice of yellow, pink, orange, purple, red, green, white, blue or iced blue colours. One can also choose between hard, intermediate and soft tyre threads.
The P Zero Sound should be available now.
