Bowers & Wilkins launches Prestige Editions of the iconic 802 and 805 loudspeakers, both featuring the same audio specifications within a high-gloss Santos Rosewood finish hand prepared at the company's UK factory.
The company says the finishing process requires 40% more manufacturing time than a standard 800 series Diamond loudspeaker. It involves no less than 13 coats of lacquer to create the luxurious colour and distinctive grain pattern, and the process takes around 4 weeks.
First announced back in 2016, the 800 series Diamond line finds use both in professional recording studios and the homes of audio enthusiasts. The speakers feature the Diamond dome tweeter (with a frequency treshold of 72kHz), Turbine head, Continuum and Aerofoil drive units and Matrix cabinet construction with heavy-duty aluminium plinth.
