Leon Speakers expands its custom loudspeaker portfolio as it acquires rugged all-weather speaker maker Terra Speakers. Financial details of the deal are not available.
The two companies already have a history of collaboration, having worked together on several products. The Terra All Climate FIVE all-weather loudspeaker line is the result of such a partnership, while the Leon Boundary Series outdoor speakers carry Terra-made drivers.
“We’ve been collaborating with Terra for years now and over that time we’ve found that our companies share a lot of the same core values and the common vision of creating high-performance, design-driven audio products that are made right here in America” Leon says. “We’re both passionate about art, music, design, and craftsmanship, and Terra’s strong expertise in the outdoor market will be a huge asset to our company.”
The acquisition should bolster the Leon outdoor audio offering-- after all, Terra is best known for durable speakers designed for rugged weather conditions. The merger also opens new opportunities in the commercial segment, since Terra has been a player in the area for many years.
So far Leon is still to detail how the deal affects dealers or employees of Terra, but says more information on how the two companies will be working together is forthcoming.
