Extron announces the availability of the XTRA Series XPA 1002-100V-- a half-rack 1U convection cooled power amplifier delivering two channels of 100W rms for 100V distributed speakers.
The professional-grade amplifier features a 100dB signal-to-noise ration and 0.1% THD+N specifications, as well as an Extron exclusive highly efficient Class D amplifier design and Energy Star qualification. Patented CDRS - Class D Ripple Suppression technology provides a smooth, clean audio waveform and improved signal fidelity over conventional Class D amps, while the half rack width metal enclosure conserves space and weighs just 1.1kg.
According to Extro the design generates very little heat, allowing for convection cooling. An auto power-down feature automatically places it in standby mode after a period of inactivity, and it uses just 11.4W when idle and less than 1W in standby mode. Ultra low inrush current draw prevents power circuit overloads, preventing other equipment from experiencing power interruption from associated power surges.
The amp is UL 2013 plenum rated when used with the optional Flexible Conduit adapter kit, allowing for concealed installation above a drop ceiling to prevent theft while providing convenient AV equipment placement.
