SVS announces the 16-Ultra-- a subwoofer series currently featuring a pair of products, the sealed enclosure SB16-Ultra and the ported enclosure PB16-Ultra.
The two subwoofers carry a 16-inch driver with an 8-inch edge-wound voice coil and a Class-D Sledge STA-1500D amplifier to produce 1500W of continuous power and 500W peak power bursts. Controlling the amp are 50MHz Analog Devices Audio DSPs with 56-bit filtering, while the cabinet designs employ double-thick MDF front baffles and rigid internal bracing for low-frequency output, deep bass extension, frequency response accuracy and pinpoint transient response.
Subwoofer control comes via mobile device app complete with polarity, room gain, phase alignment, parametric EQ and other DSP function control. It also stores custom presents, allowing users to fine tune bass down to 16Hz from anywhere in the room, and can show bi-directional feedback updates in realtime, even when the subwoofer is not in sight.
Control also comes via IR remote and front panel display.

The 16-Ultra series subwoofers ship from November 2016. Both models are available in a premium black oak or piano gloss black finish and come with a protective non-resonant steel mesh grille as standard.
