exaSound Adds Roon to PlayPoint

  • PDF

exaSound Audio Design announces RoonReady firmware for the PlayPoint network audio player, integrating deep Roon functionality with the exaSound fidelity.

PlayPointFor those not in the know, Roon is an audiophile-grade music server. Developed by the team behind to Sooloos music server (who spun off as an independent company after Meridian acquired Sooloos in 2008), it features music library management across the entire network, be it in PC HDDs, NAS or folders on multiple networked devices.

PlayPoint is the exaSound take on the proliferation of network music protocols and standards. Essentially it is a network audio endpoint with support for all high-end standards and streaming providers, and as such handles AirPlay, HQ Player, MPD, UPnP, TIDAL and Qobuz.

ZeroJitter and ENclusiv technologies allow the support of all modern sample rates handled by exaSound DACs-- 44.1 through 384 kHz/32 bit PCM plus native support for DSD1 through DSD4 (12.28 MHz). Designed for pairing with exaSound DACs, the PlayPOint has double shielded milled aluminium casework and GalvanicInfinity USB isolation to prevent EMI noise from interfering with DAC operation, and can stream up to 8 channels when coupled with the exaSound e28 DAC.
