Crestron launches an addition to its V-Panel range with the V24-C, combining full touch screen navigation, high performance graphics, HD video and DigitalMedia 8 connectivity in a 24" display.
It connects to Crestron's DGE-2 digital graphics engine, providing access to all digital media your customers want (with HDCP support) and internet access, without needing a separate computer.
Image-wise it features S-PVA technology, for rich colours, black depth and contrast, with ultra-wide 178 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles.
Navigation is gesture-based, with colourful 3D icons and on-screen keyboard and mouse capabilities. Users can even connect a physical keyboard and mouse via built-in USB port.
One can hide the DGE-2 graphics engine (and related AV source wiring) up to 100m away in the main equipment rack, while DM input allows signal transmission over single CAT5e or DM 8G cable.

Arcam revives the Solo product range with the Solo Bar and Solo Sub, a premium soundbar and companion subwoofer duo promising "something better," if not outright audiophile-grade.
The Solo Bar features 4 HDMI inputs, all Arcam CEC-enabled with 4K passthrough, as well as 2 digital audio inputs (coax and optical) and 3.5mm input. It also connects to audio sources via aptX Bluetooth, while a USB port handles service and updates.
Compatible audio formats include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.
Calibration comes through a microphone, and built-in DSP modes come in 3 modes-- stereo, movie and concert. The 1m-long enclosure is in low-resonance aluminium and carries 2 bass, 2 mid-range and 2 tweeters to push a total of 100W RMS.
ISE Success Highlights Residential Systems

Record numbers of attendees, the euphoric show-floor atmosphere and the sold out exhibit space distinguished this year’s Integrated Systems Europe 2008.
A total of 22,199 attendees (up from 16,269 in 2007) were drawn to 481 exhibiting companies (up from 363 last year). Many noted the significance of the custom home install market in Amsterdam..
Collaborative conferencing, lighting control, and home automation technologies are all expected to be drivers for expansion in 2009, say the organizers.
Sister publication RAVE EUROPE did their bit to make ISE an even more exciting event by demonstrating a virtual studio with live streaming, direct from the show floor.
There was no glass booth, no hermetically sealed environment. They were in an island stand, open on three sides with a rock band playing behind (one aisle away), a very large wall-mounted LED flashing onto the stand from the front, and a constant flow of passers-by (who became the audience).
Interviewees sat in front of a green sheet and used technology from Darim Technology to do live interviews on the show floor.
Want to see how they did? Listen to Wendy Griffiths, Director of CEDIA Region 1(that’s us in EMEA), distributor BMB Electronics, Waterfall Audio, display specialist PSCo, …and even more.
